WE JUST GOT A CALL FROM A TRIBAL Official THAT IS WILLING TO HELP US!!!!

We Spent over 90 minutes on the Phone with Head of Washington State Wolf Policy, Donny Martorello with WDFW , I have to gather my thoughts to write what we had discussed…
My head is still buzzing…. it was a Long Conversation, that I think in the end will turn out favorable for our Wolves, Just may not be as fast as we would like or expect.

We are not in a Position to predict that Our Treaty rights can in fact help the rest of the Profanity Peak Pack, the decision has been made to take Lethal Action. Sadly we do not have the Money to force them to stop, which I know we could do based on these rights! we will be Conferring with a Native Legal Representative and ask what our options are. We can however say that Donny Martorello is open to our Idea of using Tribal Treaty rights! Donny wants to have a Phone Conference with Protect The Wolves®, our Board Member Jimmy Stgoddard, and the Montana Fish and Game Department to further discuss these Wolves, and the possibility of being sent to us based on Native American Tribal Treaty Rights. Jimmy just confirmed with us that he will reach out to a Member of Montana Fish and Game to see what date works for all involved. I wish that I could tell you that it is 100% going to happen… but at the Present time we do not have the Funds to have it Court Ordered. Sadly it is only money that is keeping us from Saving this Particular Pack.

Donny said we were Talking out of His level of Knowledge speaking about using Tribal Treaty Rights to help save Animals… He was unsure whether we can get together fast enough to make it Happen, but he is Open to discussing it Further. I told him, he needed to give me a time Frame, because I can have Tribal Leaders from around the Country Available to speak in 2- 3 days with him… but Donny couldn’t promise that it would happen that fast. But still sounded Eager to learn More.

It did not seem to matter that the Cattle will most likely be leaving that area by Sept 10th or so… So we asked this … if we could share the cost of capture and transport would that help…. again he is unsure about Tribal Treaty Rights, but sounds eager to learn… Just may not be fast enough to help the Profanity Pack… 🙁 I added it only takes 10 minutes to read the Federal Law in that case, I offered to send it he said please do….. We also asked him, if he remembered what the Last Pack cost to remove? He said yes, very expensive.
I am still Hopeful that we can work together, to reach a more favorable outcome for this Particular pack, and others in the foreseeable future. Because as time has already proven in this area… somehow magically it continues to present problems. The 1 sure way, is to keep the livestock out of harms way, which Donny agreed.

We also pointed out that it is becoming a Pattern in this 1 Location… If the Rancher is going to continue to place his cattle in Harms way… by changing that particular areas natural environment that the Problem will in fact continue. So the rancher needs to be doing this at his own cost knowing full well that he is placing the environment out of Balance, thereby creating his own losses. We can not continue to allow Livestock owners to graze allotments and then allow Our Sacred Animals to be Killed because they are being presented with a free lunch. Sadly controlling the Livestock is out of WDFW hands… We said we have to get rid of the factor that is unnaturally contributing to this problem before it will cease. That being No Grazing because it takes winter foods from our other Wildlife that depend on it.

We asked him Further about their use of Foxlights, because we partnered with Ian Whalan which has Graciously offered to Donate Lights for a Study where we can compile Information on their Benefits, which would help to give deterrents a bit more credibility and he will put the Correct People in Touch with us…..

We then asked what they required to Participate as a Stakeholder  with a Native American Religious Voice… Donny said He would Welcome us to Participate as that Voice!

We closed with its Up to WDFW , We are offering you a way to keep from Killing our Sacred Wildlife, all you have to do is reach out for the help…, and we will get the Tribal Leaders together to present you with Our Tribal Rights…. or maintain your current way of dealing with Predator problems, which sadly will not help our Wolves.
