Now is your chance to have a say if you think Wyoming should be killing our essential keystone predators.
You do not have to be from Wyoming to comment. Please be respectful, but you can be firm on your stance.

Some of the questions Wyoming Fish and Game are asking the public are:

What do you see as the most important issues or concerns related specifically to large carnivore/predator management (large carnivores in Wyoming include wolves, grizzly and black bears, and mountain lions)? Why?

What direction should the Wyoming Game and Fish Department be going in with regard to hunting? Why?

What changes, if any, would you like to see over the next five to ten years in Wyoming?

You can also let them know you are strongly opposed to snaring and stronghold traps, traps can be set close to hiking, jogging, biking and walking trails. Pets often fall victim to these deadly traps as they are indiscriminate. Children or adults are at risk and there have been cases that they have also fallen, victim. Anyone or anything stepping off of a trail a couple feet. And, these traps do NOT have markers on them. So there is no way to tell they are there until it is too late

  2. It has been proven repeatedly that wolves are necessary to the eco system. (See Yellowstone study).
Furthermore, the snarling and trapping of any animal is grossly inhumane and cruel. If wolves are interfering with livestock there are many ways to address that problem that do not involve killing.
    Thank for reading my comment

  3. I strongly disagree with Wyoming killing essential Keystone predators. It has been proven tepeatefly that wolves are necessary to keep the ecosystem healthy.
I am also strongly opposed to snaring & stronghold traps that can be set close to hiking, jogging, biking & walking tracks. Traps are cruel & are a danger to adults, children & pets.
Wildlife viewing & photography is growing much faster than hunting & trapping. It would be a wiser move to protect the wildlife that people want to see rather than kill them off.
I noticed the Jackson Hole Travel & Tourism’s new National campaign shucked tired Tourism in favour of an emotional call to action crafted squarely at our time. Well wildlife viewing is the future. You say your vision reflects stewardship
of your natural resources & strive towards sustainability. Well this much hunting is not sustainable. You need to think about a future that includes wildlife & not just a handful. Wyoming is not a zoo. It should be wild with wildlife.
