Defenders of Wildlife Bailed out on Red Wolves – March 9, 2016

Yet they are still asking for your Money??

Defenders of Wildlife walked out on the Red Wolf Recovery Team on March 9th, 2016 yet they are still asking for Donations for the Red Wolf…. This is Not ok…  This only says 1 thing…. They do not care about wildlife, just about the Money.

But then when you consider their Salaries…. it makes sense, when you Look to an Organization that costs what must be Millions to operate per year… perhaps nudging 1 Million plus in Salaries alone. Are you aware that their Executive Directors Salary  was last reported over $ 307,000 dollars… yes that says thousands, NW Directors Salary in 2015 was reported as $150,000 again that is thousands…

They “QUIT”  on the Red Wolf because they Gave up!!! Advocates in our Book Never Give Up, when 1 door closes, we open another one!!! “Defenders of Wildlife has walked off the Red Wolf Recovery Team, claiming it’s headed for a “dead end,” meeting only once in the past five months”. as stated in The Smoky Mountain News on March 9th Link to They Gave Up Article

Defenders of Wildlife, after Compromising with WDFW and the Washington Welfare Ranchers need to switch sides, perhaps they would be better fitted to the Other Side…. Especially with this small issue of asking for our Money, even after bailing out on the Red Wolf. The Only thing that would help them at this point it seems.

It is a Sad day, to have watched them QUIT, But Even a SADDER Day to see them still asking for money on Red Wolves.

I must say that I was utterly shocked when I heard this, as were many people who have emailed as well as called us about this seemingly worried about donations from Red Wolves By D.O,W.

It;s not Rocket Science, Defenders of Wildlife as well as many others on Washington States Wolf Advisory Group are not defending wildlife, but rather, they are defending livestock. But then we were told at the last WAG meeting that they carry no Authority what so ever… just make suggestions to WDFWs appointed Commissioners. So perhaps, we need to Petition Washington State yo Replace WDFW Commissioners for Dereliction of duty, They are Blatantly shrugging Off Their assigned duties!!

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is dedicated to preserving, protecting and perpetuating the state’s fish and wildlife resources. The department operates under a dual mandate from the Washington Legislature to:

• Protect and enhance fish and wildlife and their habitats.
• Provide sustainable, fish- and wildlife-related recreational and commercial opportunities.

Department policy is guided by the Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission composed of nine citizen members appointed by the Governor. Department operations are led by aDirector and an Executive Management Team. The Director is appointed by the Fish and Wildlife Commission.

The department is headquartered in Olympia and operates six regional offices throughout the state.

If there’s any other way to unpack this it’s eluding me and many many others. Why is killing a “necessary component” component of conservation?
