Attention ALL followers!
This is a HOWL for HELP! Last year we had a crisis when most of the Profanity Peak wolf pack in Washington State was slaughtered by the Department of Fish & Wildlife in response to cattle depredations. We feared we would face this again, and now the Smackout pack has been targeted for the same reason.
Lethal removal with gunners firing from helicopters began on July 20th, and we don’t yet know how many wolves have been killed or left wounded and suffering. Traps were also set to capture wolves that escape the bullets. These wolves will be shot or strangled when the traps are checked. Imagine the TERROR these animals experience! We CANNOT allow state agencies in any state to slaughter our sacred wolves!
We reached out to NARF, “Native American Rights Fund,” to ask for their legal assistance. What did they say? They told us we have the grounds, we have the protections and rights under federal law, but they did not have the funding to take our case.
We are making a heartfelt request to all 55,663 of our loyal followers to please consider contributing to this cause. Even $5.00, which is just the cost of 1 Starbucks drink, will help enable us to take legal action to save wolves not only in Washington but other states, as well with tools that no other Org has available to them.
