What will it take for Zoos to keep the real animal away from Wildlife Enclosures?
A wolf has been killed due to repeated human error at one state’s zoo and people are outraged.
The incident began late last month at Menominee Park Zoo, a small public zoo in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, when a worker left a gate to an off-limits area of the zoo open. Several visitors took advantage of the open gate to slip into the staff-only area and get up close to the zoo’s wolf pack.
While one mother was busy snapping pictures of the captive animals, her four-year-old son approached the enclosure and stuck his fingers through the chain-link fence. A curious 12-year-old wolf named Rebel wandered up and nipped the child’s hand.
The child suffered four small puncture wounds, which were easily patched up after the incident. But when the Wisconsin Division of Public Health became involved, things got much worse for Rebel, who was the alpha of his four-wolf sibling pack.

That is called very bad parenting and very bad parental skills.I know but the parent should face thd consequences.In a court of law..The charge will be guilty.20 years in prison and the kid will become a ward of the state.
This is totally true & yes I agree with the sentence of 20 yrs. why the hell this poor wolf was destroyed for the wrong doing of the parents & not keeping hold of their child. it’s a total barbaric act on this poor wolf. when will people learn that these are wild animals & not toys. this is so unfair & inhumane

Please we need people to sit up & take action against the killing of wolves. As I am a wolf lover & my most favourite animal’ in my home I have many wolf items pictures etc. & I am none as she wolf for my love of them. wolves are a spirit protector & guidance & we need these beautiful animals in our world.
I am also a Gothic & spiritual lady & my animals are very close to the wolf family. I also practice Wiccan witch traditions. my home is based on Gothics & Wolves.

We are working towards a Sanctuary that will use Native American Religious rights in Hopes of creating Relationships with State Game Depts as well as National Park Services to provide Sanctuary for Wildlife that have been marked as a Predator and Marked for Death. We hope it will at least give them the Opportunity to Live their Days out safely as opposed to being Gunned down from a Helicopter!
so very sad, enough wolves murdered!!!!!! shouldn’t of been murdered at all!! visitors need to watch their children a lot closer!

This is wonderful news about the sanctuary I do hope & pray the state game depts come together & make this happen’ with my wiccan traditions I wan’t to preform a healing ritual for the protection of these wolves & wild life. I am in the process of casting healing thoughts. as wolves are my guidance & protector its what I need to do in the spirit world to help with the protection of our beautiful wolves.
