Our Wildlife should not have to bear the Burden of Greedy Ranchers grazing their cattle for next to Nothing! Jack Field needs an earful!! Ranchers need to be prohibited from Grazing Cattle of Federal Lands or accept the results of their POOR CHOICES!!
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife investigated two more calf carcasses last week calling one a confirmed wolf depredation by the Profanity Peak wolf pack and the other probable.
Executive Vice-President of the Washington Cattlemen’s Association Jack Field said the attack is not a surprise since there has been problems in the past.
“The important thing for everybody to understand is that the department is going to adhere to the lethal take protocols that the Wolf Advisory Group had worked on.”
Field, who is on the Wolf Advisory Group, said the WDFW understands it is not an issue of if, but when and has been preparing to remove wolves until the depredations stop.
Field noted that many of the ranchers in Northeastern Washington have had pretty substantial losses.
“That’s very unfortunate because it’s not fair for anybody to have to bear the burden of species recoveries.”
There have been three confirmed and three probable kills of calves due to the Profanity Peak pack this year.
