Outlaw Trapping

Trappers have been maimed 12 more pets in Montana Recently Just like this 1!

It’s the end of February, and I haven’t felt safe for four months going on a walk with my dogs. So far, 12 dogs have been mutilated in traps around Western Montana near their homes. What is so public about public lands? I’m sick of it. Get traps off our public lands. We need some exercise.

Public lands don’t belong to 6,000 trappers; we pay the taxes. The trappers take all the animals they can, and plenty of traps just have a foot left in them, so the poor animals die slowly of infection and starvation. This is not right. What a sorry state of affairs, and our government turns a blind eye.

A Bitterroot Valley woman has a heart attack trying to rescue her dogs in traps as her grandkids cry and scream.

Dogs lose their limbs, die, and it’s not addressed. This is a safety issue.

Eagles and deer, moose and elk get strangled in traps, and still, silence from the fish and game folks. The great horned owl just found dragging a trap in a campground in Turah — that is a felony. But, of course, nothing happens to the trapper. Silence from the fish and game, the governor. Who runs this place anyway? How do we stop the killing fields?

At least I can sign the I-177 petition by Montanans for Trap-Free Public Lands. They are the only ones paying attention.

  1. Anyone who approves of a trap is an evil, uncaring person and should be voted out of office – Traps snare and cause the wolf, dog, coyote or whatever happens to get caught in one a terrible, slow, terrifying death – the animals have been know to chew off a leg to try to escape, then we have some people working for the government who come along and have their dogs tear the wolf apart who is caught in one of the traps! That person is still employed with the government too. Traps are terrible and should all be banned and they have no right on public property – that property belongs to all citizens and it is only a small portion of the citizens who are evil enough to set traps and watch animals suffer!

  2. It’s past time that we see the end of this antiquated, barbaric and non-descrimating torture device. To allow a few people to hold our Public Lands hostage, from those of us, who are taxpaying citizens of the State, who happen to want to be able to enjoy the pleasures of recreating on those Public Lands, free of worry and wanting to be able to enjoy seeing the wildlife, is unfair to the majority of us. To allow such torture to the wildlife is unspeakable in a civilized society in the 21st Century and should be outlawed immediately. It’s past time this is addressed in a civilized manner.

      Hi Kat,
Thank you for your comment and yes these barbaric and mid evil forms of torturing and killing our wildlife must come to an end! This is the 21st century you would think that mankind would be showing some signs of advancement instead of returning to the ways of their ancestors the cavemen! We know they have the resources to deter predators, heck there are many many articles written on how to successfully coexist with our wildlife and yet they refuse to read and learn which leads me to the conclusion that these people simply enjoy torturing animals and carry the same DNA as serial killers but that is my opinion. I have read many thesis written by psychologists that back this same theory which makes it even harder for us to fight to stop it but fight we will until we end it!
We love you sight and have visited it often it is very informative and It is our hope or dream I should say that eventually together with sites like your and ours and many other advocate pages that one day we will be able to end this genocide..
