Just tossing thGray WolvesIs out their to see if their is an Interest. We are thinking of doing a Live feed for those that cannot attend. The Cost is expensive, but If their is an Interest… with your help Perhaps if they permit us to stream it we can Make that happen. Please Comment on facebook.com/protectthewolves under this post 😉 I need a fast response.. so we can also add that to our list of todos. Yes we would prefer all there, but distance, time and money are a factor.

  1. there is a definite interest from many that want to attend for wolves but they are not in good health or are to old to travel!!!I Know that They would Appreciate that Greatly!! and,Quite Frankly So would I being out of work for over a year now finance is not going to allow me to attend and i can not change that fact unfortunately in time to be in Snoqualmie on the 14th or 15th…

  2. Can you provide some details you are finding about what equipment is needed and the range of costs for live streaming the event? This information would be valuable for others who wish to live stream important events.

    Thank you,

    Gary

  3. If the costs could be covered by people subscribing to watch, that might warrant the expense. I have attended only two ODFW all-day hearings when removing Oregon state ESA protections from wolves was under consideration, but I can say out of that experience that even if the videography and sound recording were of professional quality, the days are long and the commentary is intensely repetitive.

It didn’t take long before it was possible to predict what a person would say, just by looking at where they sat in the room (like sat with like) and what they wore.

You can’t watch an 8-hour event happening live in less than 8 hours. How many people are going to do that? And if they divide their attention with a live feed playing in the background and miss something, there’s no rewind.

I don’t see much upside. Still, if it was easy to do, and inexpensive, and permission had been sought and given and whatever paperwork participants might need to sign was in order (do you need permission to broadcast someone’s commentary in a public hearing; I don’t know), then there’s no reason not to.

If the proceedings could be *recorded,* that’s another story. Then, we’d have a permanent record of what was actually said and who said it.

  4. Social Media via live stream is one of the best ways to reach out, share and inform to the many people that support the cause but can’t attend an event.
