The lone wolf: OR-7 continues search for mate

All but one of Oregon’s 46 confirmed wolves are confined to the Northeast corner of the state.

The gray wolf many believe left his Eastern Oregon pack in search of a mate may spend another breeding season alone.

The gray wolf known as “OR-7” made history in 2011 after becoming the first confirmed wolf sighted west of the Cascades since 1937. After leaving the Imnaha Pack in Wallowa County and traveling southwest across the state and temporarily into Northern California, OR-7 appears to have settled down in southern Klamath County.
