Since a federal judge seems to want wolves to occupy their natural range in the Upper Midwest before they can be taken off the endangered species list, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources should live-trap five to 10 of the numerous packs in northern Minnesota and then transport them to various areas around the Twin Cities. That once was the natural range of the wolf.

This also would lower the number of deer in the Twin Cities area and alleviate the insurance industry’s worry about deer-car collisions.

Perhaps then people and federal judges would start to look at the original plan and the numbers necessary to take the wolf off the endangered list in Minnesota.
